About the LRC Editor

The LRC Editor matches your pasted lyrics against an audio or video file, using the same in-browser AI that powers the speech-to-text tool to give every line a first-pass timestamp (some exact, some estimated) free, unlimited, and without uploading your file anywhere.

What is an LRC file?

An .lrc file pairs each line of a song's lyrics with a timestamp, so music players, karaoke apps, and lyric-video tools can highlight or display the right line as the song plays.

When to use this tool

  • You have plain, untimed lyrics and want a synced .lrc file for a music player or karaoke setup
  • You want AI to do the first pass instead of tapping along to every single line by hand
  • You want to fix just a few lines the AI got wrong, without starting over

How AI-assisted sync works

The LRC Editor transcribes your audio using the same in-browser Whisper engine as the speech-to-text tool, then matches each pasted lyric line against that transcript to find its timestamp. Lines it's confident about are marked matched; lines it's unsure about are flagged weak; when several lines share one stretch of audio, it gives them an estimated split. Every line (matched, weak, estimated, or unmatched) can be corrected with a tap or a small nudge.

What this tool does (and doesn't, yet)

v1 times each line as a whole (not each word), and works from plain lyrics you paste in, it doesn't yet re-sync an existing .lrc file that's drifted out of time.

Common use cases

Karaoke and sing-alongs

Turn plain lyrics into a synced file your karaoke setup can follow.

Music player synced lyrics

Create .lrc files for players and apps that display lyrics in time with the song.

Lyric videos

Time your lyrics before dropping them into a video editor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No: transcription and matching both run entirely in your browser. Your audio and lyrics never leave your device.

What if the AI gets a line wrong?

Tap the line while the song is playing to re-stamp it, or use the small nudge buttons to make a fine adjustment.

Does this support word-by-word karaoke timing?

Not yet: v1 times each full line. Word-level timing is a possible future addition.

What if none of my lines match?

You can still time every line manually with the tap button, the AI pass is a head start, not a requirement.

Tips

Paste one lyric line per line, the AI times what it can match directly, and estimates the rest by position; tap or nudge to fine-tune any line.

If a whole section (like an instrumental intro) has no matching lines, that's expected, just tap those lines manually.

You can always correct a line, even one the AI marked as a confident match.
