SubtitleKit reads and writes the common text subtitle formats, including SRT, VTT, ASS/SSA, SBV, SUB, SMI, LRC and TTML, and can export JSON, CSV and PDF. Dedicated tools pull subtitle tracks out of MKV and MP4 video, turn image subtitles (PGS, VobSub) into text, and create subtitles from audio.
Is my data safe? Where are files stored?
Privacy comes first. Conversions happen directly in your browser, so your files are never uploaded for processing, and nothing is kept on a server. The LRC editor keeps an autosave of your lyrics and timings in your own browser, so a closed tab does not lose your work. Your content leaves your device only when you choose it: translating subtitles sends their text to Google Translate or Yandex Translate, and a bug report sends what you attach. If a tool crashes, an automatic error report is sent to the Sentry monitoring service.

Can I convert multiple subtitle files at once?
Yes, in the subtitle converter and in the Shift Subtitles, Speed Adjustment and FPS Converter tools. Select or drag and drop several files at once; each one is processed individually, and you can download them all together as a zip or one by one. Merge Subtitles combines up to 10 files into one. The other tools work on one file at a time.
How fast is the conversion process?
Most subtitle conversions complete in under a second! Since processing happens in your browser using modern web technologies, there's no waiting on a server. Large files may take a few seconds depending on your device performance.
Can I use SubtitleKit offline?
Partly. Once a converter or timing tool has loaded, it keeps working without an internet connection as long as you keep the page open. The AI tools for speech to text, OCR and text to speech download their model the first time you use them, then run on your device. Translation always needs a connection, because it uses Google Translate or Yandex Translate.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed! SubtitleKit works without any registration or login, and the tools never ask for personal information. The only form that asks for an email address is the bug report, so a reply can reach you. Just visit the site and start converting immediately.
What's the difference between SRT and VTT?
SRT is the classic, universally compatible format. VTT is the modern web standard with additional features like styling and positioning. For maximum compatibility, use SRT. For web videos with advanced styling, use VTT.
